Product Description
This huge, highly condensed sans serif woodblock type is the largest in our collection. Over the years it has aquired all the character of an old breakwater! By adjusting the print pressure we were able to get an impression which accentuated the beautiful grain. We found a metal script that contrasted nicely with the geometry of the sans serif and altered the angle to follow the slanting terminals of the ‘S’
Set and letterpress printed by hand on GF Smith’s ColorPlan 270gsm paper. We used an Albion press circa 1890 to pull the four-colour prints in two press passes. Edition of 100 signed and numbered prints.
