So far, this has been one of the most complicated designs we’ve set with more than 60 different rare, wood and metal fonts combing serifs, sans serifs, slab serifs, displays and script typefaces, and a lot of fiddly spaces to fill with lead. We even unearthed a few antique fonts we hadn’t seen before and a couple of X shapes that actually belong to a border pattern found their way into the lock-up.
Set and letterpress printed by hand on GF Smith’s ColorPlan 270gsm paper. We used an Albion press circa 1890 to pull the two-colour prints in two press passes. Edition of 100 numbered prints signed by the designers.
