Product Description
We wanted to show a variety of fonts so we had all the type drawers open for this one. The lock-up combines wood and metal type with a different font used for each letter of the alphabet. This overprints a compressed bold sans serif which provides a foundation of punchy accent colour. The text messages were set in Helvetica Neue within speech bubbles and blind embossed to contrast with the expressiveness of the wood type. This is by far the most labour-intensive and richly textured print we have made to date.
Set and letterpress printed by hand on GF Smith’s ColorPlan 270gsm paper. We used an Albion press circa 1890 to pull the two-colour prints in three press passes. Edition of 100 signed and numbered prints.
